River Hawks Excel at New England Cross Country Championships
The UMass Lowell cross country team showcased their talents at the NEICAAA New England Cross Country Championships held at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. In the women's 5k race, graduate runner Kaitlyn Stevens led the team with a 187th place finish, while freshman Sabrina Vitale followed in 213th. On the men's side, junior Samuel Denis stood out with a remarkable 36th place finish, achieving a personal best time of 25:19.01 in the men's 8k event. Other commendable performances included junior Nicolas Uzzo in 75th place and senior Daniel Burns in 85th. Additionally, senior Raihana Yameogo excelled in the open 5k, securing second place overall with a time of 19:09.01. The River Hawks are preparing for their next competition at the Princeton Fall Classic on October 17, aiming to build on their recent successes and further enhance their season performance.
